Born in Denver, Colorado, Pastor David Henderson III is the son of Pastor Emeritus Dr. David Henderson Jr. and Sis. Lorene Henderson-Mays. He is the grateful husband of his Proverbs 18:22 blessing, Dr. Brie Henderson, and together they share seven gifted children and four cherished grandchildren. Pastor D believes effective leadership begins at home and is sustained through healthy rhythms, private faithfulness, and intentional relationships. 

A servant pastor at heart, Pastor Henderson carries a deep conviction that the Gospel must speak beyond Sunday morning into the real pressures and possibilities of everyday life. His passion is to reach the unchurched and underserved with a message that is practical, transformational, and spiritually grounded, empowering individuals and communities to walk in God’s purpose.

Pastor D accepted Christ on February 16, 1994, and answered his call to preach on June 21, 1997. With over 28 years of ministry experience and 12 years of pastoral leadership, he approaches ministry not as a title to be worn but as a sacred responsibility to be carried, ordering his life with Christ first, family second, and God’s people always close to his heart.

After 12 years of shepherding God’s people, at the request of his father, Dr. David Henderson Jr., Pastor D returned home to Greater Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, to serve as Executive Pastor alongside his father, who has faithfully led this ministry for 41 years. Then, on April 27th 2025, Pastor D was selected as the next Senior Pastor and successor to his father, stepping into a sacred moment of continuity and calling, honoring legacy while embracing the future God has prepared.

Educated in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Care, and Business Administration at Criswell Theological Seminary, Pastor D remains committed to lifelong learning and is currently in pursuit of his Doctoral Degree. He is also the co-founder of 3:15 Consulting Group, walking alongside pastors and leaders nationwide to strengthen vision, develop leaders, and build excellence for Kingdom impact. 

Pastor David Henderson, III is a pastor with a shepherd’s heart, a leader with a Kingdom mindset, and a servant with a community burden, and Greater Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is grateful for the grace on his life for such a time as this.
